Envirico deliver a variety of different training programmes to suit our client’s needs. This year has been unique, and we have need to be innovative and flexible with our training approaches in 2020 in order to overcome the challenges faced due to Covid-19. We are proud to say that we have successfully completed both large and small-scale training programmes, despite the challenges faced by everyone this year, and we would like to thank all who participated.
The Nore Vision is an ambitious project co-funded by all 4 of the LEADER Partnerships within the Nore Catchment – Carlow/Kilkenny, North & South Tipp and Laois. The project kicked off in Jan 2020 and is due to complete by May 2021. Envirico are delivering two lots of the Nore Vision project in collaboration with our project partners Veri. Our work has involved establishing a working Citizen Science system for capturing Water Quality data, and educating people on the survey and control of Invasive Alien Plant Species within the catchment.
As part of this project we have helped to pilot the new Citizen Science Stream Index and the Nore Vision volunteers have gathered a huge amount of data on how water quality varies across the Nore catchment using this system. We have also provided training on Dragonfly ID, the Small Stream Impact Score, Invasive Species Surveying & Control, and the use of Drones for surveying.

A new programme for 2021, Envirico are delivering Water Conservation Training to interested Carlow communities, on behalf of Carlow County Development Partnership. Participants will learn how to reduce, reuse and harvest water and why this is so important, even in a rainy country like Ireland! By the end of the programme each participating community will produce a Water Conservation Management Plan for their area, which lays out short-and long-term Water Conservation goals and how to achieve these. These plans will form a useful basis for gaining funding for communities that wish to take their water conservation even further.
